The Difference Between Botox and Fillers
Botox and dermal fillers are cosmetic treatments given through injections at Renove Med Spa. They are minimally invasive, meaning they do not involve surgery.
Botox and dermal filler treatments are popular, accounting for more than 9 million procedures in 2015, according to the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS).
Botox contains purified bacteria that freeze muscles. In doing so, Botox can help minimize the appearance of lines and wrinkles caused by facial expressions.
Dermal fillers contain ingredients that add fullness to areas that have thinned due to aging. This thinning is common in the cheeks, lips, and around the mouth.
Are you starting to pay more attention to the wrinkles across your forehead, the lines between your eyes, or your crow’s feet. When you start noticing lines on your face “at rest,” which means while having no facial expression, it’s the right time to start using a relaxing injectable like Botox, Dysport, or Xeomin to prevent wrinkles etching into your skin. The use of these products has been proven to take years off the age of your face, and they are very safe when administered by an experienced medical practitioner. Dr. Michelle Parsons has extensive experience injecting Botox, as well as Xeomin and Dysport.
Typical areas treated with Botox are: around the eyes (crow's feet), the frown area and forehead, bunny lines on the nose, the lips, chin and the area around the corners of the mouth to turn the mouth corners upward. Neck bands can also be treated. Botox is also utilized to manage migraine headaches and can control excessive underarm sweating.
About Botox, Dysport, and Xeomin
Millions of Americans have benefited from Botox, Dysport, and Xeomin treatments to improve and prevent frown lines of the face, forehead lines, and crow’s feet around the eyes. Often wrinkles are creases that have been worn into the skin and subcutaneous tissue by making the same repeated expression over many years. The muscles causing these “expression lines” can be relaxed by blocking nerve impulses.
Botox, Dysport, and Xeomin are neurotoxins, more specifically botulinum toxin type A, that can dramatically reduce the appearance of the toughest wrinkles. Injections of Botox, Dysport, and Xeomin into facial muscles block the chemicals that signal muscle contraction and relax the overlying skin and soft tissue. Results are generally seen anywhere from 2 to 7 days after injection and can last up to 4 months. With regular reapplication, the results can last longer, especially if treatments are done before the muscles are allowed to return to full strength.
There are several neurotoxins on the market, and Renove Med Spa offers Botox, Dysport, and Xeomin. They are similar in the way they work, side effects, longevity, and effectiveness. Deciding on which one to use is up to you and your medical practitioner.
I can't believe how beautifully Dr. Parsons made my lips. I was losing all lip definition to the point I almost didn't have any
Above the lip line I also had deep wrinkles. My lipstick, which I love to wear, would leave my thinning lips and bleed into the wrinkles.
Since Dr. Parsons beautifully sculpted my lip back to normal my lips are fuller, look normal, not like a fish, and when wearing lipstick it doesn't bleed since the wrinkles are gone too.
I look younger. They are BEAUTIFUL!
I recommend a lip filler to anyone who is losing their lips.
